Reviewed by Trudi LoPreto for Readers’ FavoriteMajor Crimes ebook cover

Major Crimes is a whimsical, fun, light hearted mystery. Michele Lynn Seigfried has created characters with great personalities that are very true to their New Jersey roots. If you are looking for a good mystery with a touch of humor, romance, detective work and more, then Major Crimes (Jersey Shore Mystery Series Book 4) is a surefire winner. The story was new and fresh and there was never any question as to what information I could be missing. This is a quick and entertaining mystery sleuth book that I highly recommend.

Major Crimes Review

The first of the reviews is in for Major Crimes and I am so excited to share it with you!Major Crimes ebook cover

Here is what Diane Donovan, Senior Reviewer for Midwest Book Reviews had to say:

Major Crimes is a revealing, compelling mystery story that’s hard to put down. Driven by interpersonal relationships, a sassy combination of fun and angst, murder and mayhem, and dangerous associations, it’s an emotion-driven and yet is a light, fun mystery that’s perfect for a cozy winter’s night.

Book Four in the Jersey Shore is a ‘cozy mystery’ perfect for newcomers to the mystery series as well as prior fans, and it opens with a heart-stopping scenario that portends danger from its first moment: the protagonist returns home to find her front door unlocked – and she’s always meticulous about locking it, even though she owns little of value.

She searches her house instead of fleeing or phoning the police – and finds a surprise. It’s an unannounced visit, and one that affects Chelsey’s good judgment (and ultimately lands her into big trouble) as she becomes personally involved in a convoluted crime whose twists and turns seem to have no end.

As the story line switches perspectives between characters, readers catch a good glimpse of motivations, unspoken feelings, and complications faced by the single mother. Chapter headings do a fine job of informing readers about these changing perspectives and help keep everything on track as the complex mystery unwinds.

Police interrogations, murder, relationships between exs still bound by children, uncertain connections that may (or may not) indicate romance: all these are wound into a story line that is spiced with children, husbands, parents, police departments and ex-cops.

At the center of this whirlwind is Chelsey, whose strongest connections with men have also proved to be her most unstable foundations. Three men in her life have failed her. One has done something crazy. One is falling in love. And the choices Chelsey is forced to make around all three will change her life.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! What are you thankful for this year? In seeing all the horrid things in the news lately, I’d have to say that I’m thankful I live in a country of freedom. I’m thankful for life and the ability to put a roof overhead and food on the table. I’m thankful for being blessed with the most wonderful toddler. I’m thankful for being able to rescue and care for my sweet dog. I’m thankful for so many things, I can’t even begin to list them all. I also wish to thank each and every one of you who have been following me and reading my books. You put a smile on my face and make my day a little brighter.

Judge, 23rd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards, Commentary:

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS by Michele Lynn Seigfried is fascinating, engrossing, and entertaining. Recommended.
The cover is definitely one that would get my attention—sexy but not one that I’d be embarrassed to carry in public.

The title is one that gets attention, too, but not too prurient. The back cover copy will get readers to look inside and the author biography and picture are great. Wonderful work on both counts. Good production values overall.
The opening hook is good. The dialogue and action are both excellent. The author has an ear for dialogue and that keeps the story moving. The back cover copy promises humor and I believe the book delivers. I chuckled and smiled as I read. This is refreshing because sometimes detective novels can be harsh. The descriptions really brought the characters to life, too. I liked the mystery and the elements of the story, too. For me, this turned out to be a nice, pleasurable read. An excellent entry into the genre, one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others I know enjoy this type of book.
I think if this author keeps going, she’ll find and keep readers, Again, very nice book and story. Keep up the good work!
