TAX CUT! A RUNNER-UP IN THE 2014 BEACH BOOK FESTIVAL!

Readers’ Favorite Awards

readers favorite award certificateI’m thrilled to say that Red Tape made it into the top five of the Fiction-Mystery-Sleuth category in the Readers’ Favorite 2013 Book Awards Contest. Not bad for my first novel! Now I’m deciding about going to the awards ceremony in Miami in November. Airfare is a little pricey in November with Thanksgiving coming up, but I know it would be a great experience.  Decisions, decisions. And congrats to all the winners!

I also want to take a moment to thank the more than 32,700 readers who downloaded Red Tape this past month.  I greatly appreciate your support and I truly hope you enjoy the book! Leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads when you’re through and let me know what you liked and what you didn’t.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me through this website!

Be on the lookout for Red Tape’s sequel, Tax Cut coming in early 2014.  I hope you are all having a fun and safe Labor Day!

2013 Beach Book Festival

Good morning!  I spent last night in New York City at the Grolier Club for the 2013 Beach Book Festival Award Presentations.  My debut novel, Red Tape, won an award.  It was a thrilling experience, and I was literally on top of the world since this was my first award.  IMG_4690We took the train in from New Jersey, then took a taxi over to the Club.  When we arrived, I met another Book Festival Award-winning author, Benji Alexander Palus.  Benji had flown in from New Orleans.  I asked him what he was going to say during his 1-minute speech, as I had not prepared anything myself.  He said he didn’t know and that he was just going to see what others did.  Much to his surprise, he was first on the list to receive his award. While this made him nervous, he was witty and funny. He did a great speech…as did the next three winners, which then made me nervous, because I had not prepared anything!  I was fourth to the microphone, and as luck would have it, something came out of my mouth that made the crowd laugh, thank goodness!  I was short and sweet, then took my seat!

So, in honor of the award I received, I’ve put Red Tape on sale from now through Monday for 99 cents!
