COMMUNITY AFFAIRS by Michele Lynn Seigfried is fascinating, engrossing, and entertaining. Recommended.
The cover is definitely one that would get my attention—sexy but not one that I’d be embarrassed to carry in public.
The title is one that gets attention, too, but not too prurient. The back cover copy will get readers to look inside and the author biography and picture are great. Wonderful work on both counts. Good production values overall.
The opening hook is good. The dialogue and action are both excellent. The author has an ear for dialogue and that keeps the story moving. The back cover copy promises humor and I believe the book delivers. I chuckled and smiled as I read. This is refreshing because sometimes detective novels can be harsh. The descriptions really brought the characters to life, too. I liked the mystery and the elements of the story, too. For me, this turned out to be a nice, pleasurable read. An excellent entry into the genre, one I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others I know enjoy this type of book.
I think if this author keeps going, she’ll find and keep readers, Again, very nice book and story. Keep up the good work!
