On the first day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

A package under the tree.

On the second day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Two bite marks and a package under the tree.

On the third day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Four muddy paws, three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Five yellow stains!

Four muddy paws, three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Six toppled chairs.

Five yellow stains!

Four muddy paws, three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Seven scratch marks, six toppled chairs.

Five yellow stains!

Four muddy paws, three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Eight chewed shoes, seven scratch marks, six toppled chairs.

Five yellow stains!

Four muddy paws, three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

Nine backyard holes, eight chewed shoes, seven scratch marks, six toppled chairs.

 Five yellow stains!

Four muddy paws, three hours’ sleep, two bite marks, and a package under the tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas, my new pup left for me…

A happy juvenile, making it worthwhile.

Hello friends! I hope you enjoyed my entry for the 6th Annual Holiday Children’s Book Writing Contest.  For more information about the contest and to see other entries click here: https://susannahill.com/2016/12/08/ho-ho-ho-the-6th-annual-holiday-contest-is-here/

The story had to be based on the concept of the 12 days of Christmas and had to be under 300 words.  Tell me what you think! If you like it, maybe I’ll turn it into a real book in time for Christmas 2017!
