I thought I would take a quick moment and tell you about my day.
I had the pleasure today of being one of the public speakers at a one-day conference for the municipal clerks down in Gloucester County, New Jersey. I’m not sure how many were in attendance, I would guess around 100. I forgot how much I enjoy it when I’m speaking for my fellow municipal clerks.
This is the first time I’ve done this in about two and a half years. I gave public speaking a rest while I was pregnant…my daughter is now 19 months. So, it was a lot of fun to get back into the swing of things. I did a presentation on New Jersey Elections, giving a hodge-podge of information in a game-show type of a format. Think of that new show—million second quiz, with a question being asked and multiple choice answers to pick from (sans the money!). The class was able to shout out their guesses to the questions.
I think since I was the only presenter who didn’t stand in front of the room and lecture, the class seemed to enjoy it very much, with the warm round of applause they gave at the end of my “show”. I met some great new people during the class too. A special thank you to all the organizers of the event. I’m so honored that they had me at the conference and I can’t wait to do it again soon!
Until next time…
